This should not be an additon or a feature. This is a deficiency (bug) in the app. If your PMS is tied to the KeyCard issueing machine, there is no way to move a guest after Night-Audit.

The In-House list is also missing todays total room charges, because they are not posted yet. So the guest balances are also not accurate. The Hotel Industries PMS need to start thinking about posting Room & Tax at check-in. Today a guest can check out before the Night-Audit with out paying the stay, because a GSA does not understand hotels posting process.

Walk-In, CA should not Auto assign a Room #, It should come up with a list of Available Rooms-Type, Date Last Rented and Available-Until date for the GSA to pick from. Right know GSA do not pay attention to the Assignment and rent same room every day. Do not tell me to coach the Staff, It does not work with humans.

Agree, the folio should only have charges and payments. The corrections, adjustments and other messes should be in the shift logs.

In addition, a Driver Linces swip feature will realy help. We can do it in the Credit Card info Tab. I do not understand why it was left out in the Check-in process. The App. reads DL but does not know where to put the info.

This is a work around, not a solution. Further, if you rent meeting rooms and post it in 'House Account' the credit card payment for the last rental need to be purged or else it will charge previous credit card for the new rental.

We can transfer charges, but the folios had to be setup prior to Night Audit. We can not tranfer balances as far as I know, once the night audit has been run.

All seletion fields should always default to 'select ---' and any category. My staff have made so many mistakes, because people tend to ASSUME rather than pay attention.

It is actualy erroneous, because CA can be logged-on and used from any computer, even from remote locations ie. from home. It can be set up for local access only, but that defeats the purpose flexibility that CA gives us.

CA is a real time Application, I agree it should have time stamp and userid for each time a User make changes. A look at how CheckInn (PMS from InnSoft) logs shifts' activites will be very helpful. The View Changes Tab is some what hepful, but very cunfusing and not in one log.

Can you expand on what the legal issues are, because as far as I know all the hotels have a list of people who write Hot Checks in their DNR list or guest who rent room to party. This actually will help our best guest because it will make their stay a little more pleasant.

This is bug in the Application, or in S/W world we call it a feature. I agree, I have been only using CA for 4-months and have to remind my staff to view Authorization Center and verify that Auth exits to cover the stay before printing the Registration. It is very fustrating to be training staff on the look out for bugs like this. Same goes with Cash paying guest, CA should not issue a room if Cash is not received and posted to guarantee the entire stay.

I agree, the Application developer should spend some time at front desk and maybe use competitors Apps (ie. CheckInn), Guest tracking is very critical to hotels, specially if you have a DNR ( Do Not Rent list). A guest's stay history / comment field should pop-up as you search for guest's last name and flag the hotels best and worst repeat guest.

It is long ovedue, I have used this with other PMS before and it is an enhancement to manual entry not a replacement for unradable DLs. Mag-strips were created for this type of functions, we should take full advantage of it.
